Honda Exhaust or No Exhaust? Reading may help.
HONDA: The 1999 Honda Prelude Type SH can go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.0 seconds and has a top speed of 140 mph. (See how below)

In my opinion you may save by leaving the exhaust factory. Noise was considered, as well as air pollution.
Does an exhaust affect speed?A faulty or damaged exhaust system can limit your speed and power, reduce fuel efficiency or even lead to serious mechanical issues if left untreated.
VEHICLE SPECS:
Don’t be afraid to hit 6k rpms for the Vtec. Do not change suspension on an SH please 😎
Propulsion
I left the aftermarket exhaust out. The extra noise with aftermarket exhausts was a woe, however things turned out great with the car.
I was driving a ‘99 Honda Prelude SH hitting speeds of 135-137mph, which I thought was pretty remarkable for just an AEM intake. The actual prelude specs say 140 is the top speed, however the car was smooth sailing at about 137mph.
I think I made a good decision in keeping it factory with just an AEM cold air intake.
When I think of the ease of hitting those speeds, I think propulsion plus in my case the benefit of v-tech as well.
Installing my intake having no issues, and not looking back at an exhaust was truly an experience in owning this car.
I strongly believe in too much air out of the exhaust. A simple way to put it. Savings and performance was what I was after and I was able to accomplish that.
A stock car with simply an intake. I just wanted to share with you guys the propulsion that car gives you around 6k rpms. Enjoy!
(Vtech hits around 6k rpms.)
The AEM and no aftermarket exhaust may save you or your child thousands and beat most cars top end.
A faulty or damaged exhaust system can limit your speed and power. From a factory exhaust standpoint with their sturdiness I would leave the factory exhaust on the car and purchase an AEM cold air intake. With just the single purchase I could hit 135+ mph!
Thank you so much for reading.
